Call for Applications: Selection of Governing Board Members for Lanchkhuti Local Action Group (LAG)

Lanchkhuti Local Action Group (LAG) is a community organization that brings together representatives from the private, civil society, and public sectors, operating on the principle of voluntary membership.

The activities of the LAG are based on the European Union’s LEADER approach, which aims to promote sustainable rural development by establishing strong links among economic, social, cultural, and environmental dimensions at the local level.

The main principle of the LEADER approach is to foster rural development by strengthening partnerships and combining joint efforts among the public, private, and civil society sectors. Within this framework, a key instrument for rural development is the Local Action Group (LAG), while the primary resource for development is the local population, which can actively participate in decision-making and development processes based on local needs and opportunities.

Key focus areas of Lanchkhuti LAG:

• Developing and supporting the implementation of the Lanchkhuti Municipality Development Plan;
• Promoting a healthy lifestyle among the youth of Lanchkhuti Municipality;
• Supporting the development of climate-smart agriculture for residents interested in farming in Lanchkhuti Municipality;
• Fostering entrepreneurship development for individuals interested in business activities residing in Lanchkhuti Municipality.

About the Competition At this stage, in accordance with the Statute of Lanchkhuti Local Action Group (LAG), the composition of the Governing Board is being renewed. For this purpose, a call for applications is announced to select candidates for Governing Board membership. The competition is open to representatives from the public, private, and civil society sectors.

Governing Board membership entails active participation in LAG activities, discussing local needs and development opportunities, and representing the interests of various sectors in the municipality’s development process.

Qualification Requirements

The candidate must:

• Be registered, living, and/or working within Lanchkhuti Municipality;
• Be familiar with and share the organization’s goals and statute;
• Have the desire and capacity to actively participate in LAG activities;
• Be prepared to participate in Governing Board meetings and other processes related to the organization’s activities.

Required Documents

Candidates must submit:

• An application for Governing Board membership (the application may be submitted in any format preferred by the candidate);
• A copy of an identity document;
• Curriculum Vitae (CV).

It is recommended that candidates briefly state in their application why they wish to join the Governing Board and what experience, knowledge, or resources they can contribute to the development of Lanchkhuti Municipality.

In the email Subject line, candidates must specify the relevant category:

• Public sector representatives: “Call for Applications – Public Sector”
• Business, civil society, and citizen representatives: “Call for Applications – Private/Civil Sector”

Candidates employed in state- or municipality-funded institutions are considered representatives of the public sector.

Candidate Selection The selection of candidates will take place during the General Meeting of the organization, where each submitted application will be voted on individually.

Candidates who receive the highest number of votes, taking into account the sector representation defined by the statute, will be elected as Governing Board members.

Candidates will be notified of the competition results on the same day via email.
