Lanchkhuti municipality is located in western Georgia, in the region of Guria. It is bordered by the Black Sea coastline to the west, the municipalities of Samtredia and Chokhatauri to the east, Khobi, Senaki, and Abashi to the north, and Ozurgeti to the south.The total area of Lanchkhuti municipality is 548 km². According to the 2014 census, the population of the municipality is 31,486 people. There are 16 territorial units in the municipality.
